Privacy Policy

FareChance ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the FareChance mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

User-Created Content
FareChance allows users to create custom lists ("Decks").

  • User-created content is stored locally on your device.
  • We do not require user accounts.
  • We do not store your custom decks on our servers.

If you use iCloud or other device backup services, your data may be included in your personal backups.

Location Information
FareChance uses your device's location to show you nearby venues and curated recommendations relevant to your area. Location is accessed only while you are using the App and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to deliver local content. You can manage location permissions at any time in your device settings.

Analytics and App Performance Data
FareChance uses third-party services, including Google Firebase, to understand how the App is used and to improve performance and reliability.

These services may automatically collect certain types of information, including:

  • Device information (such as device type and operating system)
  • App version
  • General usage data (such as screens viewed or features used)
  • Diagnostic information (such as crash data, if enabled)

FareChance does not control how third-party providers process data once collected.

Curated Content Delivery
FareChance uses Firebase services to deliver curated venue lists within the App. These lists are created and managed by FareChance, do not contain user-specific personal information, and do not require personal data to access.

Advertising
The App displays venue promotions through third-party advertising providers. These providers may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can manage advertising tracking permissions on your iOS device under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with:

  • Service providers (such as analytics or advertising partners)
  • Legal authorities if required by law
  • To protect our legal rights or comply with legal obligations

3. Data Retention

Because FareChance does not maintain user accounts, we do not maintain personal profiles. Analytics data retention is governed by the policies of our third-party service providers.

4. Children's Privacy

FareChance is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address the issue promptly.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including California or the European Union), you may have certain rights regarding personal data. Because FareChance does not maintain identifiable user accounts, we may not be able to associate analytics data with a specific individual.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
